In today’s blog post I am going to be telling you guys some really important news and also I am going to be talking about one of my favorite shapes the Polygon! Polygons

In high school geometry, a polygon a plane figure that is bounded by an infinite chain of straight line segments closing in a loop to form a closed polygonal chain or circuit. These segments are called its edges or sides, and the points where two edges meet are the polygon’s vertices or corners. The interior of the polygon is sometimes called its body. An n-gon is a polygon with no sides; for example, a triangle is a 3-gon. A polygon is a 2-dimensional example of the more general polytope in any number of dimensions.

The basic geometrical motion of a polygon has been adapted in various ways to suit particular purposes. Mathematicians are often concerned only with the bounding closed polygonal chain and with simple polygons which do not self-cross and they often define a polygon accordingly. A polygonal boundary may be allowed to cross over itself, creating star polygons and other self-crossing polygons.

Important News

Today I have found out that in September I will be with my dad in England again and starting high school. Recently my dad and I have been looking into schools for me to go to and yesterday I sent him the email for QES (Queen Elizebeth School). It is the second best school in my area, the first being Lancaster Grammar, and my dad sent him an email saying do you have a place and the man replied. ‘Yes, we do bizarrely straight after you sent me this email a place appeared so we are going to send the forms soon.’ it was amazing I felt happy that I was going to that school. A because two of my friends are going and B because it is a good school. So I am really looking forward to starting school in September. I am going to keep you guys updated so don’t miss out!
